David Goulden, Director of the Dell EMC Infrastructure Business, has announced to leave. The departure is shortly after the quarterly figures of Dell EMC, with sales growing but there was a falling demand for storage solutions .
Goulden is replaced by Dell EMC business president, operations & technology manager Jeff Clarke, a Dell Technologies veteran who leads the Client Solutions Group and Infrastructure Solutions Group.
Goulden was an important headline in the company for the acquisition of EMD by Dell for more than 10 years. The news about Goulden’s departure comes a week after attempting to boost sales of Dell EMC storage by adopting hundreds of vendors and making changes to the way Dell EMC storage vendors are compensated by means of modified incentive programs.
Goulden said the market moves to all-flash and hyperconverged solutions, making traditional mid-market systems confronted with falling demand. Also, customers prefer to buy storage through a flexible, consumption-based model.
